Glasshouse review
The clue is in the name of this hotel, behind the façade of the former Lady Glenorchy church at the foot of Calton Hill. Floor-to-ceiling windows in every room offer impressive views over the two-acre lavender-scented roof garden or the city skyline; even the bathrooms are glass (with screening, naturally). The clean, modern lines throughout make for a stylish boutique hotel, but it's not been over-designed.
