HBOS Museum on the Mound review

Reopened in September 2006, the HBOS Museum on the Mound is one of only three banking museums in the UK. Showcasing a unique collection of artefacts and memorabilia, it has a mix of static and interactive displays to keep visitors entertained. There's a section on forgers and forging, plus a gallery dedicated to the history of the Mound headquarters, set in context alongside the development of the city.

The bank itself was founded by the Parliament of Scotland back in 1695, and is one of the few institutions created by it to have survived. To this day it continues to issue its own banknotes, all of which are legal tender throughout the UK.
