Like many restaurants trying to collar Scottishness as a unique selling point, the clubbish if rustic Stac Polly does offer haggis (in filo pastry with plum and red wine sauce). However, it also serves dishes such as duck with pineapple relish, and its Caledonian credentials are more in its general approach than in the way it draws on the homelier elements of the traditional Scots kitchen. Set lunches are excellent value at £14.95 (two courses) and £18.95 (three).
