Maxi's review

A friendly and popular café with a few deli bits and bobs for sale, Maxi's is approaching its tenth anniversary. A light and airy space with blond wood tables, it's modern but still accessible. Stop for breakfast or a quick coffee, or dawdle over a bottle of red with a panini and a salad. In the evenings (Thur-Sat), another pair of hands takes over to offer a bistro dinner menu, with a focus on local ingredients; mains might include pot roast shoulder of pork, or beef and cider pie. A decent neighbourhood eaterie.
