Under the direction of Herman Rodrigues, Suruchi has consolidated its position as one of Edinburgh's best Indian restaurants. Here you'll find jazz gigs, food festivals, cultural displays and, alongside old favourites such as prawn masala, some innovative dishes that nod to the Scottish larder (salmon tikka, for instance, or the unlikely but decent haggis pakora). Vegetarians do well too, and even simple sundries such as coconut rice can be sublime.
