Looking out from the first-floor level down a curving, cobbled brae, the Grain Store has been a comforting presence for a couple of decades. The cooking is Franco-Scots: oysters with spinach and hollandaise, followed by venison, lamb or fresh fish. It's particularly good for a casual, good-value lunch (£10 for two courses, £13.50 for three) with a bottle of wine. A stone-walled, wooden-floored, candlelit local favourite.
