An enviable address, a keen reputation and a very talented executive chef (Jeff Bland) all make this a first-class restaurant, one of only four venues in Edinburgh with a Michelin star in 2009. The spacious room is both contemporary and classic at once; the heady menu might include crab millefeuille with brown crab pannacotta and wasabi mayo, or vegetarian pithivier of squash, chickpeas and spinach with red onion marmalade.
