A purveyor of Indian vegetarian food for nearly three decades, Kalpna has stayed much the same over the years, although the interior and menu got an overhaul in 2008. The lunchtime buffet is cheap (£7), but you need to catch the dishes when they're fresh. At dinner, try a thaali, a dosa or dam aloo kashmeri, the restaurant's signature dish: potato 'barrels' filled with vegetables, nuts and paneer in a complex sauce.
