One stretch of Leith's Commercial Street is occupied by refurbished warehousing. It's unremarkable enough on its south side, but the north side has premises with conservatory extensions facing over to the huge Scottish Government building. Many bars and restaurants have opened here since the 1990s; the most enduring is Daniel's, an Alsace-influenced modern French bistro that still packs 'em in with dishes such as beef bourguignon or tartiflette.
