Negociants feels as if it's been here forever. The fixtures and fittings are French-ish, but the band posters - it's a students' favourite - are more Britpop than brasserie. It's pleasantly spacious and light, with plenty of mirrors and big windows. There has been a marked improvement in the evening menu of late: you can now chow down on risotto, coq au vin or a salad niçoise. Equally laid-back sister operation Medina is downstairs.
