Afternoon tea at the Balmoral has an honourable pedigree. In both the elegant Palm Court and the Drawing Room, you can order the Balmoral Tea (2.30-6pm, £21), which includes sandwiches, scones, shortbread, cake and tea or coffee, then kick back and feel like an old-school aristocrat. Add a glass of Bollinger, though, and the price can reach £37.50. Coffee and snacks are served in the morning and the early afternoon.
