The Pandyas, who opened this restaurant back in the '80s, have now retired, but their nephew remains in charge of this family-run gem, which offers vegetarian cooking on a Gujarati-style menu. It's close to assorted University of Edinburgh buildings and is popular with staff and students, as well as longstanding regulars who have been eating here since Frankie Goes to Hollywood topped the singles chart.
