Edinburgh International Climbing Arena review

This multi-million-pound climbing arena ran into financial problems just five months after it launched in late 2003, but by summer 2006 was in the final stages of being taken over by Edinburgh Leisure. A temporary closure was planned for autumn 2006, before a relaunch later in the year. Based in an old quarry in West Lothian, it's a hugely ambitious facility, with indoor and outdoor surfaces, freestanding boulders, a suspended assault course and more. If you're not up for scaling the walls, there's the Skyride, an aerial ropes adventure challenge.
