Edinburgh Playhouse review

Run by global entertainment conglomerate Clear Channel, the 3,000-seat Playhouse is the regular home for touring West End musicals such as Mamma Mia! and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The Edinburgh International Festival regularly uses the auditorium, the largest of its kind in the UK, for bigger dance and opera productions, while grown-up rock stars and big-name comedians treat the Playhouse as a stopping-off point: Nick Cave, Katie Melua and Ross Noble have all visited recently, and it's apparently Lou Reed's all-time favourite venue.
