Mercat Walking Tours review
The longest established and most professional of all the companies prides itself on historical accuracy. Don't expect a lecture, though: the black-cloaked guides feed the customers a grisly portrait of Old Edinburgh. All Mercat's walks pass through the extensive Underground Vaults. The earlier tours are less sinister than those from 9.30pm onwards.
