Time Out says

This disastrous blend of Euripides, Bergman (credited inspiration) and sub-Cassavetes role-confusion glibly juxtaposes the theatrical angst of Mercouri, grappling with her interpretation of Medea for a new production of the play, alongside the cold religious fanaticism of Burstyn, jailed for a triple infanticide in response to her husband's infidelity, and fails miserably in attempting to invoke 'Persona-l' correspondences between them. A hammer-blow insistence on the 'relevance' of Greek tragedy, a modish 'distancing' of the creative process, and a token exploration of feminist implications conspire to produce a nightmare of pretension. Filmed (basically) in English.
