Bateman enters 'The Kingdom'
The 'Arrested Development' star joins Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner in a new action thriller.
May 11 2006
Jason Bateman is to join Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner and Chris Cooper in 'The Kingdom', a new thriller about the war on terror.
Directed by Peter Berg ('The Rundown', 'Friday Night Lights'), the film kicks off with a deadly terrorist attack on Americans working in a Middle Eastern country.
In response, the US government sends an elite team of counterterrorism agents to find those responsible.
Matthew Michael Carnahan is currently writing the script, which from this outline sounds dangerously reminiscent of comedy satire 'Team America: World Police', but without the puppets. Or the musical numbers. Which makes it pretty much moribund in this journalist's opinion!
