Ang Lee feels 'Lust, Caution'

The 'Brokeback Mountain' director announces a WWII espionage thriller as his next project.

May 24 2006

'Brokeback Mountain' helmer Ang Lee has announced his next project – a WWII spy thriller called 'Lust, Caution'.

Based on Eileen Chang's short story of the same name, the action takes place in Shanghai in the early 1940s and will be adapted by 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' screenwriter Wang Hui-Ling.

Speaking of the project, executive producer James Schamus said 'Ang is going to be making a very exciting film that's unlike anything he's done before. 'Lust, Caution' is a uniquely Asian story which, in Ang's hands, will surprise and attract audiences around the world.'

And being that Lee has yet to make a bad film (and yes, I'm including 'Hulk' in that statement), 'Lust, Caution' will definitely be one to look out for in 2007.
