An actor with political aspirations! Well, it's not like it hasn't been heard of before - President Ronald Regan, Governor Arnold Schwarznegger, Glenda Jackson MP.
According to a former girlfriend of the actor, Ben Affleck has spoken of plans to one day run for office.
Not that much of a surprise considering he has been vocal about his political stance and played the comedy mascot for John Kerry on his recent campaign.
In an interview with, Fox News Affleck said: 'Yes, I would say I'm a moderately liberal guy. I mean, there are things that I agree with the Democratic Party. There are things I don't. For example, I'm not a big gun control guy. I believe in all the bill of rights, including the Second Amendment. I'm not a party guy one way or another. I don't believe in subscribing to that. I still believe in people more than I believe in parties per se.'
USA Today recently reported about Kerry's Ohio election campaign tour: 'Kerry attracted crowds of thousands all weekend. Or maybe they came to hear actor Ben Affleck, political junkie.
Affleck's function was to open rallies and be a foil for Kerry jokes. He was also an insurance policy — who would leave before seeing him, even if they had to wait hours through three rainstorms?
In a steady rain in Greensburg, Pa, the entourage decked out in waterproof gear, Kerry said Affleck is 'standing out here in his t-shirt to show you how macho he is.'
He's almost in the Whitehouse - Affleck that is, not Kerry.
