Pitt beats DiCaprio to zombie novel
Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B, have landed the rights to Max Brooks' forthcoming book 'World War Z'.

Following a competitive bidding war, Brad Pitt's Plan B production company defeated Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way to win the rights to forthcoming novel 'World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War'.
Written by Max (son of Mel) Brooks, who also penned the excellent 'Zombie Survival Guide', 'WWZ' reportedly went for a high six-figure sum.
Telling of a global zombie epidemic, the book describes the war between the living and the dead in graphic detail, as told by witnesses from around the world.
Paramount will oversee the development of the project, though there's no word yet regarding a director or cast, although at this time we'd say it's doubtful that DiCaprio will star.
