Wolverine joins 'Carousel'
Hugh Jackman may star in a film revival of the musical classic.
Aug 2 2006
Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, is in talks to star in a remake of the movie musical 'Carousel'.
The star of stage and screen will also produce the remake of Harry King's 1956 classic (reviewed here) about Billy Bigelow, a dead fairground barker who is allowed to leave purgatory for a day to sort out his past problems on earth.
And it's a role that Jackman knows well, having played Bigelow in a 2002 concert to honour songwriters Rogers and Hammerstein.
Before then Jackman will be seen in 'The Prestige' and 'The Fountain' and will also try to fit in the 'X-Men' spin-off 'Wolverine'.

Having seen Hugh on the London stage in Oklahoma which was awesome - the audience were enthralled and there were ovations after ovations. So to have Hugh on the big screen in a musical like Carousel would be fantastic. At least when the DVD comes out I could add it to my collection and have the pleasure of his company as much as I wanted. I wonder what are the chances of TBFO be released on DVD - the Australian production looks great from what I have seen on the net
Good Luck Hugh you are so talented all your fans want the recognition a great actor deserves. Posted on Aug 06 2006 15:27 - Report as inappropriate
