Rats fail to flush Bond away

'Casino Royal' easily out-performs 'Flushed Away' in London cinemas.

It's like 'Groundhog Day' at the top of the London chart at the moment, with 'Casino Royale' and 'Borat' retaining spots one and two for the third week in a row.

Not even the release of the latest Aardman/DreamWorks effort 'Flushed Away' could break the dominance of Bond, with the animated comedy opening at three with a disappointing £81,718 haul.

The brilliant 'Pan's Labyrinth' continues to do good business however, dropping from three to four with a strong £70,176 gross, while Will Ferrell's latest, 'Stranger than Fiction', had a relatively weak opening weekend of £70,109.

Thirteen years after it was first released, the new and improved 'Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D' is a re-entry at six, taking £28,934 from just one screen.

And further down the chart two Time Out favourites have also entered the charts, with 'Shortbus' coming in at seven and 'London to Brighton' arriving at nine.

Next week, it's all about the letter 'H', with 'Happy Feet' and 'The Holiday' both set to stir things up at the top.
