'Spider-Man 4' in the works?
David Koepp is in talks to pen a fourth film in the franchise.

Four months before 'Spider-Man 3' is released in cinemas, Columbia Pictures have begun negotiations with David Koepp to write a fourth instalment in the series.
It would be a return to the franchise for Koepp, who penned part one and then handed the reins over to Alvin Sargent for parts two and three.
It could be an expensive undertaking for the studio as director Sam Raimi and stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are out of contract after the latest flick, meaning they would have to sign new deals for a fourth.
The first two films grossed more than $1 billion however, so it's as close to a sure thing as Columbia can get.
If everyone puts pen to paper, expect 'Spider-Man 4' to scale cinemas in 2009 or 2010, and if you can't wait until then, 'Spider-Man 3' is released on May 4.
