Washington and Whitaker are 'The Great Debaters'
The Oscar-winning pair will star in this period piece about a high school debating team.

Recent Oscar-winners Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker are to collaborate on 'The Great Debaters', a 1930s-set film about an eccentric coach who turns a group of East Texas students into an elite debating team who take on Harvard.
Washington will play the volatile manager, while Whitaker has been cast as the father of one of the students, who finds himself competing with the coach for the loyalties of his son.
Washington will also direct the flick, and having done such a good job helming 'Antwone Fisher' in 2002, 'The Great Debaters' will definitely be one to look forward to come the end of the year.
