Trailer for '9 Songs' Hits Net
A brief glimpse at what is being called 'the most sexually explicit film in UK cinema history.'
Jan 27 2005
The trailer for '9 Songs' has finally hit the net, giving film fans a chance to take a peak at what is reportedly the most sexually explicit mainstream movie in British cinema history.
The latest effort from Michael Winterbottom, director of 'Welcome to Sarajevo', 'Wonderland', 'The Claim' and '24 Hour Party People', it has ruffled more than a few feathers since first previewing early last year.
Indeed Winterbottom's film has already caused a stir at Cannes, been attacked by the tabloid press and even faced the wrath of Anne Widdecombe. And that's before its release.
Telling the tale of a couple's monogamous relationship through a series of explicit, unsimulated sex scenes, it was written by Winterbottom himself and stars Kieran O’Brien and newcomer Margo Stilley.
After much deliberation, the BBFC passed the film uncut last year, granting it an 18 certificate with advice that the film 'contains frequent strong real sex.'
It's set to hit cinemas on March 11, but to find out why everyone is getting their knickers in a twist about all the film's 'knickers off' action, check out the trailer below.
Be warned however, it does feature scenes of a sexual nature. And a bit of nudity…
