Tom Hanks' Playtone Productions is teaming up with Warner Bros and the IMAX Corporation to make an animated CGI feature entitled 'The Ant Bully'.
Based on the book of the same name by John Nickle, 'The Ant Bully' tells the tale of a mischievous boy who floods an ant colony with his water pistol.
The youngster then gets his comeuppance when he is magically shrunk down to ant size and made to do hard labour in said colony.
The film will be directed by John A Davis, who was responsible for the surprise 2001 box office hit 'Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius'.
The vocal talent on show is the real story though, with the likes of Nicolas Cage, Julia Roberts, Paul Giamatti, Meryl Streep, Lily Tomlin and Kahn himself, Ricardo Montalban, all voicing characters.
'The Ant Bully' will be released simultaneously in 2D and IMAX 3D on 4 August 2006.
