'Revenge of the Sith' DVD details announced

The feature-packed 'Episode III' disc will hit shelves on October 31.

Jul 26 2005

Lucasfilm today announced that the final piece of the 'Star Wars' puzzle will hit DVD on October 31.

'Episode III - Revenge of the Sith', the film in which Anakin Skywalker is finally seduced by the dark side, has already become the most successful film of the year, and the DVD version will no doubt do similar business.

As with all the previous 'Star Wars' DVD releases, the two-disc set will be loaded with extras.

'Revenge of the Sith' features a brand-new, full-length documentary, as well as a 15-part collection of the mini web docs that were made throughout the film's production.

The disc will also include two new featurettes – one exploring the prophecy of Anakin as the 'Chosen One' and the other taking an in-depth look at the film's many spectacular stunts.

Add to that a Lucas/McCallum feature documentary, all manner of trailers and galleries, plus access to a playable demo of the 'Star Wars: Battlefront II' game, and the result is what will doubtless be the biggest DVD release of the year.
