Virgin on the ridiculous

Plans are afoot to make a 'Nativity' movie, based on the story of the Virgin Mary.

Jan 27 2006

As if we didn't have enough of them at primary schools up and down the country in December, New Line Cinema has announced plans to turn the story of the Virgin Mary into an epic film entitled 'Nativity'.

'I think that the story is a natural bookend to 'The Passion'' the film's writer Mike Rich told Variety, in reference to Mel Gibson's box office smash about the crucifixion of Christ. However, as Rich was also the scribe behind woeful 'inspirational' drama 'Radio', we won't exactly be waiting with baited breath for this one.

It does raise an interesting debate over who will play Mary herself however. I don't know what you guys think, but I suggest Jennifer Tilly, who so memorably auditioned for the role in 'Seed of Chucky' a couple of years back?

    If you're talking about Mary, it's got to be Mad-'Like a Virgin'-donna surely. Posted on Jan 27 2006 10:22
