From Time Out Film Guide

Portly professor Sherman Klump returns, with his svelte alter ego Buddy Love and his bickering family: grouchy papa, indulgent mama, bellicose bro, nympho granny and Ernie Jr. All but the last of these are played by Murphy. Last time out, the Klumps featured in just two dinner table scenes. Here they're fleshed out big time. Jada Pinkett's graduate student gives way to Jackson's insipid scientist, who, like her predecessor, loves the tubster for his mind. Enough, in fact, to marry him. The nuptials are imminent and only Buddy Love can prevent little and large from walking down the aisle. The original was an effects heavy kids' movie with some risqué adult situations and borderline dialogue. This sequel edges towards the grown-ups: the 'youth juice' has a startling effect on papa's drooping member. A damaging technical problem with the layers of latex and/or poor sound recording renders much of the family dialogue inaudible.
