80 Blocks from Tiffany's (1980)
Director: Gary Weis
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Bring 'em back alive documentary for which the crew ventured into the wilds of the South Bronx street-gang territory to talk to members of the Savage Skulls and Savage Nomads. Picturesque shots of the natives posing with steel helmets and swastikas, muttering darkly about dastardly deeds and codes of honour. Muddled and messy, the film is as inarticulate as its heroes.Author: TM

- Posted on Nov 05 2008 15:19 The Time Out Film Guide is all wet on this one. It's a good, raw, real documentary from the burned-out war zone that was the South Bronx in the 70s. You can watch it in 8 parts on Youtube.
