Every Which Way But Loose (1978)
Director: James Fargo
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A huge disappointment after The Outlaw Josey Wales and The Gauntlet, this rambling comedy forsakes the subtle, self-deprecating humour of those films and opts for a far rowdier and broader comedy that never really goes anywhere or says anything. Clint is the somewhat dumb prizefighter who wins an orang-outan and sets off with his new buddy in pursuit of hard-to-get C&W singer Locke. The attempt to counter his apparent superiority over other men with his gauche reactions to the woman makes no interesting points, and the whole thing seems like an indulgent, expensive home movie created by and for Eastwood's customary stock company of actors.Author: GA
