Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Described as 'delightfully mischievous' by its distributors, Schenk's film - not so much a remake of Max Ophüls' classic La Ronde as a return to Arthur Schnitzler's more sardonic play - takes full advantage of relaxing censorship attitudes. Predictably, all the visual richness and stylish elegance of the Ophüls version has given way to bumbling sexual romps. Censorship at least had the positive value of forcing directors to be imaginative in the way they presented Eros on the screen.
