The Official Version (1985)
Director: Luis Puenzo
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Alicia (Aleandro) happily disseminates doctored Argentinian history to her pupils, and dutifully tolerates a husband who unashamedly boasts of his entrepreneurial expediency. But the suspicion begins to grow that her adopted daughter might be the child of one of 'The Disappeared', which prompts not only a reappraisal of her non-political stance, but also of her marriage. Surprisingly muted and not without lapses into sentimentality, the result nevertheless packs a massive emotional punch.Author: JP
