Beck (1992)
Director: Jacob Bijl
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
When chief inspector Beck returns to work upon recovery from a shooting incident, he is asked to look into the case of an apparent suicide; colleagues, meanwhile, are investigating a series of robberies. But both cases merge when single mother Monita is asked to act as a courier for an unscrupulous photographer... This modest, competent thriller works effectively as a police procedural; but more interestingly, with studious detachment, it explores how far chance determines one's destiny.
