Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

The paradoxical fascination with showbiz exhibited by cinéma-vérité film-makers continues unabated. And this record of Billy Connolly's 1975 Irish tour survives inevitable comparisons with Pennebaker, Graef and the Maysles, largely because its subject is caught at the peak of his form, and because Connolly remains resolutely immune to standard showbiz poses; offstage he effortlessly extends his wit to the grotesqueries of touring. A thoroughly entertaining film.
