Cromwell (1970)
Director: Ken Hughes
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Turgid history lesson which never quite makes up its mind whether it means to be subtle or spectacular, and eventually compromises on both counts. Fact is considerably fictionalised in order to present Cromwell (loudly played by Harris) as a blameless champion of the underprivileged. The battle scenes are staged vigorously enough, but also play havoc with history.Author: TM
