The Passage (1978)
Director: J Lee Thompson
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Anthony Quinn, in yet another portrait from his gallery of craggy, loveable peasants, plays a Basque shepherd who ferries an escaping scientist and his family across the Pyrenees into Spain during WWII, pursued by a tenacious SS officer (Malcolm McDowell with supercilious swagger). McDowell's comically histrionic performance is, in fact, the single redeeming feature in this lamentably simplistic and unpleasant piffle. File under Carry On Garrotting and forget.Author: AC
