Sheena (1984)
Director: John Guillermin
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Inane jungle adventure with Roberts as a sort of Tarzanette, an all-American girl raised from childhood in the jungle by a shaman after her parents died in a rockfall. Thus she learns to talk to the animals, swing through the greenery, stitch together a suede bikini and shave her armpits. Her greatest challenge will come, however, when tribal prince Thomas, back from an American football career, threatens the harmony of this untouched enclave by aiming to exploit its lucrative titanium deposits; so it's fortunate TV sports reporter Wass is around to help thwart his plans. Oh, and since this is the first white man she's come across, Sheens falls sappily in love. Is this family movie just an excuse for the star to romp around wearing not an awful lot? Very probably.Author: TJ
