Sibling Rivalry (1990)
Director: Carl Reiner
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
From the moment Alley - a doctor's frustrated wife urged by her sister to indulge in an affair - screws charming, grey-haired stranger Sam Elliott to death, you know this is going to be a stiff. Pullman mugs his way through the part of a bungling window-blind salesman who agrees to help Alley make it look like suicide. Gertz is the randy sister who falls for the investigating cop (O'Neill), while Fisher heads Alley's medically-obsessed in-laws. The sitcom contrivance of Martha Goldhirsh's script is exacerbated by farcically overwrought performances. Chief among these is from Alley herself, all 'big hair', neurotic snivelling and shrieking hysteria. And the scene where she has to remove a condom from the corpse's rigor mortised dick... Laugh? I almost changed my method of contraception.Author: NF
