Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Heartwarming (?) comedy about a well-off Catholic family with six kids where the wife exiles husband to the spare bedroom until he feels brave enough to buy himself some contraceptives. It compromises itself right, left and centre in an effort not to offend, and ends up not saying anything at all, but throwing out on the way a couple of nasty lines in doublethink. The wife, for instance, decides to go on the pill - which is OK for her as she's C of E - without telling her husband; and having been celibate for ten months, they both start having sex fantasies. As a comedy it relies on played-down double entendres and the lady driver joke.
