Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

When Jay (Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith) discover that the 'Bluntman & Chronic' comic strip which they've unwittingly inspired is to be made into a movie - without their permission - they're not best pleased. Worse, they're being bad-mouthed on movie websites. There's nothing for it but to head out Hollywood way to sabotage the production. Wickedly silly tangents and dream sequences ensue. Smith's quick, cartoon-like direction complements the absurd premise and through straight to camera asides, he makes his film feel like a big joke we're all in on, while his savvy pop observations are as smart as ever. Packed with knowing movie references and pulling together strands from Smith's past work, this absurd and surreal road movie, peppered with frat boy humour, is the perfect curtain call for these much-loved, wise but oh so stupid slackers.
