Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Yes, it does sound like some sub-Carry On lark, but the title actually masks a rather jolly comedy Western. Col Douglas and Capt Ford are members of a Union cavalry troop so inept that Gen Backus has sent them West by riverboat rather than risk losing the Civil War. Their new mission sees them more interested in professional lady Stevens, but the accident-prone twosome still manage to cover themselves in glory in this romp with a decided anti-military tone. It's not exactly MASH out West, but fun none the less.
