All About My Father (2001)
Director: Even Benestad
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Norwegian documentarist Even Benestad turns his camera on his father Esben, a small town doctor who doubles as sex therapist 'Esther Pirelli'. The film not only asks what makes him tick, but to what extent his choices have affected (and even acknowledged) his two wives and their children. Challenged on a point of responsibility, Esben objects, 'But that's a theoretical debate which only leads me into loneliness.' Intimate and informative, but also somewhat ill-defined.Author: NB
