Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Housewife Williams enters a writing competition, wins a week in Paris, and escapes from miserable husband and boring existence. After a knock on the head, she wakes up convinced she is the debonair heroine of her fantasies, and - hey, presto! - gets stuck into real-life intrigues, falls in love, etc. If you can suspend disbelief, this basically dippy story is actually quite appealing. It's not helped, though, by curiously varied performances: Conti's Englishman in Paris seems faintly embarrassed, while Giannini's villain just looks bored. But it has some amusing moments, despite slushy dialogue and a yukky happy ending.
