From Time Out Film Guide

Disastrous feature from omnibus specialists Amicus. It's sins-of-the-fathers time again, with a disembodied hand avenging the rape of a servant's bride by an ancestral member of the Fengriffen household. The sufferers of the curse are Ogilvy and his pregnant bride Beacham, but fortunately Dr Pope (Cushing) is on hand to explain all. The film might more accurately have been called The Screaming Never Stops, because Beacham screeches incessantly throughout, an effect more wearing than suspenseful.
