Animalympics (1979)
Director: Steven Lisberger
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Conceived in 1976 as a 7-minute parody of the media coverage aroused by the Olympic Games, this animated film eventually turned up 73 merciless minutes longer. Using an assortment of animals and an armoury of terrible puns to run national stereotypes into the ground, it might have been tedious-but-funny. Actually it's just tedious, with a shampoo-commercial soundtrack from songsmith Graham Gouldman.Author: CR
