Anne of the Indies (1951)
Director: Jacques Tourneur
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Pretty much of a swashbuckling potboiler aside from the switch of having Peters, spirited but not entirely convincing, as the bloodthirsty (but she has her reasons) pirate chief. Not one of Tourneur's better films, although he does give it some of the same colourful bounce as The Flame and the Arrow.Author: TM

I think this film is action packed and very well done. I liked it much better tha Flame and the Arrow. Jean Peters does a great job as the fierce Captain Providence and she is a gorgeous sexy female, and surprisingly a good actress. Also good are Herbert Marshall and Thomas Gomes as Blackbeard.
Don't miss this flick. It's main atraction is the lead character is a female pirate! - Report as inappropriate
