Britain's second 'X' certificate picture. Young master Ray loses papa More's sixpence and snatches a yellow balloon from another boy, who appears to fall to his death in the ensuing chase. Bad egg Sylvester, however, is the only other witness to the dreadful event, and blackmails the kid into taking part in a planned robbery. Tense direction from a promising newcomer and a strong central performance contribute to a '50s Britflick (from a story by Anne Burnaby) with a touch more bite than usual.
