The Jessie in question is a Bardot-lookalike comic-strip damsel who scampers through the dreams of a mild-mannered academic. When his wife develops the technology to bring sleep-time visions to life, Jessie – and the musclebound superhero always chasing her down – invade the prof’s waking life as well; he and the cartoon crew are even hauled into court on charges of ‘dangerous dreaming’.
