Filmmaker-comedian Paul Provenza's doc on the mother of all filthy jokes pays lip service to back story, collecting testimonies about the first time comedians heard it, etc. Most of the film consists of famous faces dishing out their own megadirty versions, with George Carlin and Bob Saget tying for the movie's MVP. But The Aristocrats never gets past giggling at its own taboo tweaking. As a short, the parade of profanity might have worked wonders; at 90 minutes, however, this all-star open-mike night loses its luster before its own loud laughter dies down.Author: DF
